Greeting Brothers,

I was fortunate enough to be able to visit each of our 9A sister lodges last week and share in the usual fellowship each had to offer. First was a Moriah 15 Stated on Wednesday, Putnam 46 fellowship on Thursday, Corner Stone-Quinebaug 122 Stated on Friday, and then to Moosup 113 on Saturday for the inauguration ceremonies of RW Chris Carrott as District Deputy and WB Joe Fox as Associate Grand Marshal which had in attendance our MWGM Marshall Robinson, several Past-MWGM’s and Grand Lodge Officers along with many other dignitaries. Putnam 46 was well represented by no less than eight brothers supporting RW Carrott. RW’s John Rhoads and Peter Rinaudo assisted in the ceremonies while RW Ken Marvin, SW Fred Pierce, JW Tim Loomis, JS Gary Watson, WB Bob Sweet and myself enjoyed the view from the North. RW Edward Page did a great job as Master of Ceremonies as did all the brothers of Moosup Lodge laboring from behind the scenes.

This coming Saturday, the 19th, is our May Stated Communication opening at 7:30pm. JW Tim will be preparing a seafood pasta bar for dinner, beginning at 6:30pm. One topic we will touch upon during the meeting will be the rehearsal schedule for the upcoming Master Mason degree on June 16th.

If you’re selling tickets for the BBQ, be sure to record how many orders for each type of meat that is sold. This information is critical to purchasing the proper amounts of each meat to be smoked the day of the event (May 29th).

St. John’s Sunday has been confirmed and will be at Abington Church, 542 Hampton Road, Pomfret on June 24th. I’m not sure of the starting time, I will get that by the next Master’s Message. By the way, Freemasons historically celebrate two feasts of Saint John. The feast of John the Baptist falls on June 24th, and that of John the Evangelist on December 27th. The Premier Grand Lodge of England was founded on June 24, 1717, in case you did not already know.
