The 2018 Spring BBQ is now in the rear-view mirror and I’m happy to report that we’ve had another successful year. So many brothers worked very hard to make this possible and to attempt to list them all would be folly on my part. I would like to sincerely thank all who contributed to the fruition of this important fundraiser for the lodge. Without the many volunteers donating immense amounts of time and energy, the results would surely have been disastrous. Not to be overlooked are the many brothers, families and friends who purchased their tickets from us, your support is much appreciated.
With the first day of summer just a few short weeks away and the daylight growing long, I’d like to begin golfing at Roseland Golf Course on Thursdays prior to our fellowship night on a regular basis. Tee off would need to be around 5:15 to 5:30 pm in order to get a quick 9 in before refreshing ourselves at the lodge and partaking in the usual comradery. I’m setting aside June 7th (weather permitting) on my calendar for the first of hopefully many opportunities to play some afternoon golf on Fellowship Night.
One more thing about St. John’s Sunday on June 24th, we will be opening lodge promptly at 10:30 am and leaving for the Abington Church to attend the 11:00 service in full regalia. We will bring aprons for those who need them.
Elsewhere in the district Moriah 15 will be having their 2nd Annual Crawfish Boil on Saturday, June 2nd beginning at 12 noon. The cost is $25 but if you’re not into the crawfish, you can have hamburgers and hot dogs for only $10. There will be raffles, music and you can BYOB. Several brothers from Putnam attended this event last year (myself included) and enjoyed great food and warm hospitality from the brothers of Moriah. I have my ticket for this year and am looking forward to attending on Saturday.
