Greeting Brothers,

I am happy to report to you that the Master Mason degree and lodge inspection went very well this past Saturday morning and I for one could not be more relieved. We opened promptly at 10:00 am, executed a well-rehearsed first half of the degree, and then moved to refreshment for the break. Lunch was provided by SW Fred, JW Tim and myself and consisted of homemade chili, southwestern salad, and garlic bread, with cookies for dessert. After lunch, we proceeded to raise three brothers, one from Purity 150 and two from Somerset-St. James 34, to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason in due and ancient form followed by an outstanding Steward’s Lecture by SS Derek Brooks and JS Gary Watson, an inspiring Beehive Lecture by Bro. John Knierim, and a word-perfect Master Mason’s Charge by WB Chris Mayhew, Sr. I again would like to convey my sincere thanks to the Officer Line and degree volunteers WB Cary BentleyWB Barry SheadWB Ted Rupar, and RW Carl Mossberg for their hard work and dedication in making this a most memorable degree for our newly raised brothers.

Our Quarterly Stated Communication for June will be this Saturday the 23rd at 10:00 am. A lunch of Chicken Caesar Salad lovingly made by the Ladies of Putnam 46 will be served along with assorted pies for dessert. Dress code for the meeting will be polo shirts and khaki pants, per usual P46 tradition.

St. John’s Sunday service will be held at Abington Congregational Church542 Hampton Road, Pomfret Center, CT, at 11:00 am. We will be opening lodge at 10:30 am and then commuting to the church with jewels and aprons for those of you who must rendezvous in Pomfret instead.

I will not be golfing this Thursday the 21st at Roseland Golf Course nor attending the Fellowship at the lodge since I will be attending the Scottish Rite Scholarship Awards instead. Please contact me or Bro. DJohn Watkins if you would like to join in and carpool to Preston. Presentations begin at 7:00 pm and is open to the public, cake and ice cream served afterwards.

Finally, I would like to pass on from Bro. Kyle Majewski of Somerset-St. James Lodge #34 his immense gratitude for those of you who donated your surplus business attire for the Career Closet Program at his place of employment, Reliance Health, Inc. of Norwich. They have helped many people suffering from diagnosed mental illness dress properly for job interviews and they appreciate your generosity. This is an ongoing thing brothers, so continue bringing your donations of sweaters, dress shirts, dress pants, ties, suits, and shoes to Putnam 46 or directly to Somerset-St. James Lodge in Preston.
